What stick does Rasmus Ristolainen use?
Big defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen is fresh off of signing a new $25.5M contract with the Flyers, and will now be spending the next 5 years trying to live up to the potential that made him the 8th overall pick in 2013 in front of a notoriously critical Philadelphia fanbase.
Thankfully, Ristolainen has the right tools to get the job done. His custom curve is an awesome blend of two of the most popular patterns in the game - a P92-style curve, with a face shape like an elongated P28. Like you'd expect from a defenseman of Ristolainen's profile, he typically uses a stiff flex on his twigs - 115 in this case.
The featured stick is a Warrior Alpha DX with DX SL graphics, but we have also seen Rasmus using Bauer and Sherwood sticks this season. He is also a rare example of a player who has preferred the lower end retail model to the top-end stick - we got in some custom True A5.2 sticks from him a few years back. Yet another great example of NHLers just using whatever works for them.
