What stick does Maxime Comtois use?
A native of Longueuil, Quebec, Comtois is a Stanley Cup victory away from becoming a member of the distinguished Triple Gold Club, having already won gold medals at World Junior Hockey Championship and World Hockey Championship. Can he and the Ducks turn things around soon and bring The Cup back to SoCal?
Comtois uses a CCM Jetspeed FT4 Pro graphic, which is still incredibly popular in the NHL despite the FT5 Pro and now the FT6 Pro being the two newest Jetspeed releases. The 2017 2nd rounder's curve is most similar to a P90T than any other retail curve, it truly is a custom profile. Featuring the standard toe kink of a P90T, Comtois has a deeper mid-pocket making more surface to cradle the puck in the middle of the blade.
Comtois is only 24 but uses CCM's T shape shaft; the boxy, old school geometry with square corners and straight sidewalls, featured on all retail SuperTacks sticks. This is, however, CCM's most popular shaft shape as most older sticks feature this square shape shaft. Lastly, Comtois uses the popular 85 flex while his stick measures 61", stock height for CCM.
We love seeing players customize retail patterns to their own specifications, it shows how in-tune these players are with their craft. Head over to the HockeyStickMan site to shop more custom curves.
