What stick does Ryan Getzlaf use?
Ducks Legend Ryan Getzlaf recently announced he will be retiring at the end of the season, bringing his outstanding 1100+ game career to a close. Getzlaf played his whole career in Anaheim after being drafted in the 1st Round by the "Mighty" Ducks, lifting the Cup with them in 2007.
The long-time captain has been a Warrior guy in recent years, but spent most of his prime in Easton, and later Bauer; from the -6 in the stick code, we can deduce that this Vapor 1X would have been from early on in Getzlaf's time with Bauer. Getzlaf's curve has stayed pretty consistent through his career - a custom pattern that starts fairly straight through the heel then has a big bend towards the slightly squared off toe. Getzlaf and long-time teammate Corey Perry must have compared notes at some point, because their toe curves are very similar despite different face shapes.
This stick also features tactile corner grip and a stiff 107 flex, though Getzlaf would end up using some slightly whippier sticks later in his career - who can't relate to that? Congrats on a great career and enjoy retirement!
