What stick does Andrei Markov use?
Habs legend Andrei Markov spent his entire 16-year NHL career in Montreal, ranking 2nd in career points (572) among defensemen for the storied franchise, before returning home to Russia to finish his career in the KHL.
Like many defensemen of his era, Markov preferred the standard Drury-style heel curve that has since fallen out of style at the retail level. At 80 flex, this stick is quite a bit whippier than one might expect for a player like Markov, which may have contributed to him infamously snapping two sticks on the same shift in the 2015 Playoffs.
To round out the old-school specs, Markov opted for a matte non-grip finish on this CCM SuperTacks stick that would allow him to adjust his hands along the shaft with ease.
